Yemen to return to status before STC’s emergency – Saudi coalition
The Saudi-led coalition underscored the need to return to the status before the Southern Transitional Council (STC) declared an emergency in southern Yemen.
STC, one of Yemen’s main southern separatist groups fighting against the Houthi rebels, early on Sunday, revealed it would establish self-rule in Aden, which the nation’s government warned against, claiming the move could potenntially provoke “catastrophic consequences.”
Earlier in the week, the coalition extended a unilateral ceasefire by a month in the country, after Yemeni Houthi rebels rejected a proposed temporary ceasefire suggested previously by the military coalition.
